BOARD OF DIRECTORS
|
| - Sonoma Ranch HOA Board of Directors, President |

I am very happy to serve as your SR HOA President. My goal is to do work with our management team for the benefit
of our entire community. Management is a work in progress where good communication is
essential.
From the survey responses along with year-long input, the two most common SR values noted are: 1st, Safety and Security in our
neighborhood and 2nd, the exercise of Fiscal Responsibility.
I am happy to report that we already have an outstanding Safety and Security Committee
led by Mike De Filippo. They are reviewing the many issues under this designation, such
as the 24/7 gate closing, the traffic study and surveillance cameras. The budget for
the year was adjusted accordingly. Safety is not negotiable. It is a priority.
Please know that I take my fiduciary responsibility very seriously. Entrusted with the management
of ‘other people’s money’ know that I will make sure that every decision is made responsibly,
with all homeowners in mind. Our treasurer, Don Wuebben, has recently reported on the importance
of the Reserve fund contribution to save for long term capital projects.
This year, the board is also working to solidify processes to ease succession. With the help of AMS, this year, we have assembled basic documents, incorporated an orientation and are meeting with all committee members to establish good communication and expectations. We recently instituted a Swim Team proposal and approval process that has all of us on the same page and working together as summer approaches. And we still have more to do.
Finally, we will continue to build our website as this is the most effective and efficient way to disseminate information. New posts are added on a continuous basis. The website should enable every homeowner to know what is going on in the neighborhood or in lieu of that – to know who to contact to find out. I encourage you to sign up for our email blast service.
I look forward to working with our management team and all committees as we move forward.
I wish you and your family a safe and Happy Spring!

Greetings! I have two wonderful children, Taylor and Greg, and a loving husband, Mark. My family and I moved to Helotes/San Antonio in 2005 from El Paso, Texas, and we have not looked back ever since. I have taught in institutions of higher learning for 12+ years and enjoy the learning opportunities that I bring to students and other instructors.
I have a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Learning Technologies from New Mexico State University. My Masters is in Public Relations with a minor in Journalism from Ball State University. In addition to teaching for 7 online universities including University of Phoenix, Walden University, and Kaplan University, I also serve as a faculty reviewer/consultant for the American Council on Education where I review military and civilian courses for college credits.
My other work experience includes the following: Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) investigator for a law firm where I investigated discrimination complaints filed by federal employees, curriculum/course developer, newspaper copy editor for the El Paso Times, GED/ESL instructor, Writing Center Reviewer, and dissertation chair/mentor for about 30+ Ph.D. and DBA learners.
When I am not busy working, I spend my time chaperoning my children to their swimming activities and other extra-curricular activities. I also love to travel to different cities/countries, watch movies, read magazines, etc.
It is my hope and desire that we work together as a supportive community full of positive I.D.E.A.S:
Positive in your Ideas, Desires, Emotions, Actions, and Sense of Values.
I am very excited to serve as one of your Directors!
